Yesterday Manu was invited onto a Vietnamese football talk show, to discuss Manchester United and the Arsenal-Liverpool game. He participated in the pre-game, half-time, and post-game analysis sections of the show. They introduced him as an English teacher who has been living in Vietnam for almost 10 years and most importantly that his parents loved Manchester United so much that they named him Manu, with a STRONG stress on the U (Man U i.e. Manchester United).
It was quite a funny evening as we came along with 8 other friends to witness this "memorable" moment. Manu was also offered the chance to write a weekly article in a national football newspaper. (LA Star)
To top it off we dared Manu to drop the word "casserole" during the show and he beautifully executed it by saying and I quote " Liverpool don't have their casserole today". Don't ask what it means. Fortunately for him his translator had no idea what he was talking about, and translated something different.
I'll be uploading the link to the show at a later date.
